The story of Vemek goes back more than sixty years – or, if you prefer, three generations. Vemek’s story is, in some ways, like many others: the story of a small company born in the beating heart of Italian industry, with limited resources but a very clear idea. And, like lots of stories that define companies from the northeast of Italy, Vemek has grown year after year, evolving step by step until it achieved global distribution and recognition.

At the same time, we could tell Vemek’s story as that of a manufacturing company with an international character, able to bring to its target market a value proposition defined by specialization, very high technical know-how, and the ability to design, manufacture and distribute customized solutions in a made-to-order and co-engineering approach. 

Like two sides of the same coin, Vemek’s identity cannot be fully understood without the effort of looking at both: family-run management on one side, technological sophistication and precision products on the other. In this seeming contradiction lies its true essence, where the typical approach of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises meets the need to respond to the demands of an extremely complex and diverse market. Here, one side of the coin enhances the other, in a relationship of mutual exchange and connection. 

 

 

 

Once upon a time… 

If it’s true that each person’s identity is shaped by the experiences they live through and that events and circumstances forge their vision, values, and mindset, then the same must also be true for companies. Or at least for ours. 

Vemek established itself on the market thanks to a key collaboration, launched in the early stages of its corporate history, with one of the steel industry giants of the time: Teksid, then the main foundry of the FIAT group and one of the world leaders in the production of engine blocks. 

At that time, Vemek’s structure was very different from today’s: the facility was smaller, the expertise significantly lower, and the production capacity incomparably more limited. 

Yet there is one element of continuity that has remained unchanged over the decades: the ability to offer personalized support, combined with the desire to develop tailor-made solutions, even where the market had never previously created them. 

Creativity, customer care, and a passion for new challenges are the values Vemek acquired throughout its history, becoming structural parts of both its commercial offering and its corporate identity. 

Thanks to this attitude, Vemek became a trusted developer and manufacturer for one of the biggest players in that industry. It was there, most likely, that the company’s first true identity mark was forged, marking the precise historical moment when it began to discover itself. 

Between that starting point and today lie years of evolution, hundreds of successful projects, and millions of parts designed, manufactured, and distributed all over the world. 

 

 

Once upon a time, again… 

A few decades and two generations later, one of the Vemek family representatives found himself in India, at a hotel, for an industry event. He was meeting with a leading figure from a key company specializing in the production of camshafts. Minutes later, in a hotel room, they co-designed a new core support capable of holding the long internal core required to produce hollow, through-hole camshafts—an extremely difficult casting to achieve. 

Two professionals thousands of kilometers from home, connected to a factory on the other side of the globe: a crucial connection that allowed the requested part to be prototyped in a matter of weeks, in record time. Today, that part, visible in the photo below, has been replicated millions of times and distributed worldwide. 

 

 

To say that Vemek is a family-run company means exactly this: the company stops being just a physical place and becomes an extension of the people who represent it. Vemek is wherever its “children” are, breaking down physical barriers, time constraints, and organizational limitations. 

In Vemek’s production management, this sense of familiarity means that customers can deal directly with its owners, working together to find solutions and taking advantage of a flexible organization where nothing is considered impossible from the start. What has never been done is not an invitation to give up, but a call to take on new challenges. After all, nothing has ever been done until it is done.

At some point, however, you have to deal with the technical side of design and development. And there, emotion must step aside. The market demands constant innovation, advanced skills, high-performance machinery, ingenuity, problem solving, and reliability. 

This is where Vemek shows the other side of the coin: the one driven by the market’s pressing, ever-evolving demands. The one that recognizes the need to invest constantly in Research and Development and fully understands the importance of relying on top-level professionals and technologies capable of pushing industrial capabilities one step further.
