For this reason, until a few years ago,\u00a0we did not consider camshaft foundries among our primary counterparts.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The story\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0about to share changed everything, marking a pivotal moment for\u00a0Vemek\u00a0and,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0proud to say, for the entire market segment.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is the story of a complex project\u2014compelling precisely because it was incredibly challenging. To understand it,\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we need to travel far from Italy<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, to where a\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">chance encounter<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0would change the course of one of our client companies. And not only that.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vemek.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/art8.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13228 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/vemek.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/art8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vemek.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/art8.png 565w, https:\/\/vemek.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/art8-300x206.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><span class=\"TextRun SCXW185887918 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW185887918 BCX0\">Figure 1 \u2013 Example of a camshaft<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW185887918 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The unexpected meeting<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is how it began:\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we were abroad\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to deliver a<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0technical seminar on the use of chaplets for core support<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To our surprise, a team of engineers\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">from one of the world\u2019s largest automotive manufacturers\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">was waiting for us\u00a0in the lobby of the hotel where we were staying.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We headed down to the hall and welcomed them with a mix of professionalism and genuine curiosity. We soon\u00a0learned\u00a0the reason for the meeting: a new, fascinating challenge. They\u00a0asked us to\u00a0develop a custom solution that would make it possible\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to cast a camshaft with a through-hole<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, while keeping a long, slender core perfectly centered.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Anyone in this field knows how difficult a request like this can be. Those who know\u00a0Vemek, however, also know how\u00a0inspiring\u00a0challenges like these\u00a0are to\u00a0us.\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We accepted the project and\u00a0immediately\u00a0began the analysis and design work<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0on site.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The insight came far from home<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Right there in that hotel room\u2014connected with our technicians in Italy\u2014the breakthrough idea took shape:\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a new type of support for core\u00a0centring\u00a0in camshafts<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, designed to deliver stability, precision, and repeatability.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The challenge we were given was even more complex than simply developing\u00a0an innovative\u00a0support.\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We had to rethink the entire production process<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:\u00a0tooling, bending, welding, tinning, and dimensional inspections.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Every step had to ensure\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reliability, tight tolerances, and controlled costs<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:\u00a0to truly make an impact, an innovation\u00a0must\u00a0also be data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In\u00a0a very short\u00a0time,\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">we developed\u00a0a state-of-the-art\u00a0production process<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0capable of\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">manufacturing millions of parts per month\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">with<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0exceptional precision\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and at a<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0competitive cost<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(even in the demanding Indian market).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Today, that solution\u00a0\u2013\u00a0born\u00a0almost by\u00a0chance during a night far from home\u00a0\u2013\u00a0has become\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a benchmark production standard for\u00a0many\u00a0camshaft foundries<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0around the world.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a
